Lange is recognised as one of the most influential dance artists of the past two decades; as well as helping to define the trance genre in his early career, he is also a DJ who has remained at the forefront of the scene and a producer that has continued to push boundaries. After an exhausting list of achievements, counting among them 20 UK top 40s, featuring on film soundtracks, and remixing mainstream artists such as The Pet Shop Boys and Faithless, Lange remains one of the world's leading EDM producers.
Alongside his exceptional and successful studio work, he is a prolific international DJ, making appearances for some of the best club brands in the world including Insomniac and Cream as well as performing for prestigious events such as such as Tomorrowland, EDC, Dreamstate, Sziget and ASOT - marked by a sustained appearance in the influential Top 100 DJ Poll for 8 years. His eclectic, stimulating, and driving sets pull influences from across the dance music spectrum from trance, progressive, techno and electro.
With a host of artist and compilation albums under his belt, plus relentless chart-topping singles and remixes, Lange has repeatedly proven why he is considered one of the most accomplished and highly rated artists in the scene, receiving unreserved support from both fans and DJs alike, and with praise coming from around the globe. Drifting Away, Follow Me, Happiness Happening and many more continue to be revered as some of the finest dance classics, while not afraid to experiment, tracks like Another You Another Me and those under his LNG alias have been some of the defining moments in the evolution of trance.
His 3rd Artist Album, “We Are Lucky People” enjoyed huge sale success internationally, while each of the ten album singles released entered the Beatport Top 10. Taking a completely fresh approach to releasing an album, Lange first released a string of club hits before each track was reworked and combined with four new pieces, to create a unique concept long player. Carefully crafted to flow continuously from start to finish, the album gained praise from the likes of DJ Mag, Tilllate and VIBE.
This same year, Lange was selected by Ministry of Sound to mix the return of the legendary Trance Nation series. After a successful release, the club brand decided to continue the series that has also been mixed by the likes of Ferry Corsten, Above and Beyond and Dash Berlin. Lange was also selected by Black Hole Recordings to mix another legendary compilation, In Search of Sunrise. The release was one of the top-selling compilation albums of the summer.
His label Lange Recordings, born in 2004, developed into a leading outpost for Trance, during which it was a focal point for Lange’s own releases as well as being graced by fellow leading artists such as Andy Moor, Tritonal and Gareth Emery. The imprint delivered a sound at the forefront of the genre, with releases regularly climbing to the top of the charts and supported by the DJ elite, from Armin Van Buuren to Hardwell. The label was closed in 2016 after Lange’s new brand ‘Create’ launched in 2015. The brand went from strength to strength, spawning two new labels and a new radio show to replace his highly popular ‘Intercity’ show; it was time to start a new chapter.
The new labels, ‘Create Music’ focusing on Tech Trance, and ‘Create Strobe’ focusing on Trance joined the Black Hole Music family, and with the new brand Lange sought to take things back to what got him into Dance music in the first place - music to feel passionate about, with a grooved techno-edged outputs ranging from the progressive to aggressive.
Intercity’s landmark episodes spanned 24 hours and featured some of the biggest guest stars in Trance. The live broadcasts became some of the largest radio events in dance music history after A State Of Trance, reaching the #1 Worldwide Trending topic on Twitter and dominating the most popular US trends during the shows. The new ‘Create’ radio show offers something different to his previous ‘Intercity’ show, building on its predecessors’ massive success, with more variation from week to week; more live shows, more guests, rabbit hole mixes as well as a look back through the best tracks in dance history.
Lange continues into his 3rd decade with a host of new ideas and exciting collaborations.
